This house is located in Tramore, a seaside town in Co. Waterford on the southeast coast of Ireland. It’s close to the traditional seaside promenade and has beautiful views to Tramore Bay.
The residence is located on a very small site. It was an old holiday home, but had great potential as a modern, full-time residence where the owners and their friends could fully enjoy their time in this magnificent setting.
In order to achieve the desired layout, we had to demolish some internal walls and extend the house. The new extension accommodates a new sitting room and dining area and emphasizes the view with a picture window that frames Tramore Bay. This design is in line with modern trends and materials to provide a comfortable, cosy atmosphere inside the house and contemporary look from outside where we used long-lasting, natural materials in natural tones such as white render, grey metal cladding, and timber.
Outside, the bungalow enjoys a small but well-designed garden that make the most effective use of the site. There is a space for a barbeque, and a sitting area, both of which are sheltered from prevailing winds and get the afternoon sun, making them a pleasant addition to the house.
